So I'm the one who's son had his 7 day/night castle trip to Ireland in May. He went to the Rock of Cashel. It was the only spot "in ruins" so to speak. I believe he said it was occupied by clergy. All the other castles in which he stayed were all renovated. He also got to cruise on one of the Fjords at the cliffs. He sent me dozens of photos and each were like postcards; absolutely beautiful. I think you are going to love it. He really enjoyed it and plans to do a Norwegian cruise tour next.

Suggestions skip kissing the Barney's Stone in just wander around the ground once. They are absolutely gorgeous when I went. My cousin's were in line an hour and a 1/2. And that's all they got to do. They didn't get to see any of the grounds before we had to board the bus. while I just wondered around the grounds and only seen a fraction of it. The tropical garden is just outstanding
